Slat band conveyors use rigid steel or plastic slats mounted to chain drives on both sides, creating a stable, flat carrying surface that does not stretch or deform under load. This makes them the preferred choice for heavy unit loads, filled bags, and accumulation applications where a conventional belt would deform. The slat surface can be configured with various top plate profiles, including plain, textured, and cleated options. Drive and tensioning are handled by the side chains, not the slat surface.
