Mixing and Blending Process Plants

Mixing and blending plants produce homogeneous products from multiple raw material streams. The plant configuration depends on whether batch or continuous blending is required, the number of ingredients, the ratios in which they are blended, and the required output rate. Facet Engineering designs mixing plants from ingredient intake through weighing and conveying to the mixer, and from the mixer to filling or further processing. Batch systems use weigh hoppers per ingredient or a common accumulating weigh hopper with multiple ingredient conveyors controlled to deliver the correct mass sequence. PLC recipe management stores and recalls all formulas. Continuous blending uses loss-in-weight feeders at the required rate for each ingredient feeding onto a common belt or screw conveyor.
